Minutes from the October 21st, 2014 Regular Meeting
Meeting called to order at 7:00 by Jon Hay
Secretary Paden Brobst took Roll Call. Becky Applegett, Rachel Bausch, Paden Brobst, Christy Clark, Dan Conkright, Jeff Decker, Dave Fleshman, Emily Gabriel, Jon Hay, Dave Hickman, Deborah Johnson, Cameron Krebs, Jim Krebs, Kathy McNutt, Shirley Russell, Kevin Wiley, Kelly Willis, Beth Boomershine, Tim Shade.
Preident Jon Hay swore in new director Dave Fleshman.
Kathy McNutt moved to approve September minutes and secretary’s report, second by Jeff Decker. Motion Passed.
Treasure’s Report was delivered by Cameron Krebs, added that he would double check the bill for a plaque from proforma. Rachel Bausch moved to accept Treasure’s Report, second by Emily Gabriel. Motion passed.
Fair Manager’s Report
Tim Shade delivered the fair managers report. The Huber road grader was pronounced dead by Jeff Karn. Gary Dever Moved to allow Jim Krebs to investigate the sale of the grader to a parts retail store and report at the next meeting, second by Dan Conkright. Motion passed.
More contracts need to be revised by the contracts committee and printed. Also to experiment with switching to a PDF format.
Dan Conkright moved to accept the Fair Manager’s Report, second by Gary Dever. Motion passed.
Committee Reports
Contracts committee presented for Central Ohio Truck Pullers Curciut, Emily Gabriel moved to accept the contract, second by Cameron Krebs. Motion passed.
Contracts committee presented for DockDogs, Emily Gabriel moved to accept the contract, second by Christy Clark. Motion passed.
Contracts committee presented for Dee Dadrik/Molly Butler/ Quilt Judge Cameron Krebs moved to accept the contract, second by Kathy McNutt. Motion passed.
Sale committee reported that all buyers have paid their invoices and all 4-hers have been paid.
Horse Committee presented numbers to replace all the stalls in barn 24, 45 stalls total, and will look into sponsers.
Harness Racing Committee presented a request to got to two days of harness, Sunday and Monday at 5 p.m. Christy Clark moved to change to 2 days of racing, second by Jeff Decker. Motion passed.
Veterinarian Committee proposed we use Mary Lou Rings as the 2015 fair vet. Dan Conkright moved to accept proposal, second by Jeff decker. Motion Passed.
Old Business
Discussion of Treasure’s Laptop, Dan Conkright moved a maximum $1000 allowance for a new laptop, second by Jeff Decker. Motion passed.
New Business
Jon Hay presented OFMA dates, deadlines, fees and events that require attendance.
Tim Shade informed the board that the OFMA district meeting is November 6 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Hartford fairgrounds.
Shirley Russel thanked Debbie Johnson and the Junior Fair Board for their help with Heritage Day.
Gary Dever moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Dan Conkright. Motion passed.
Emily Gabriel moved to amend the motion of adjournment and to ask the guests to leave, seconded by Gary Dever. Motion passed.
Emily Gabriel moved to enter executive session to discuss the Fair Manager position at 8:49 p.m., seconded by Jeff Decker. Motion passed.
Emily Gabriel moved to exit executive session, seconded by Kathy McNutt. Motion passed.
Cameron Krebs moved to keep Tim Shade as Fair Manager through the 2015 Franklin County Fair, seconded by Gary Dever. Motion passed.
Dan Conkright moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Cameron Krebs. Motion passed.
