ANNOTATION OF THE MASTER'S DISSERTATION “SEMANTIC-FUNCTIONAL FEATURES OF ADJECTIVES (IN EXAMPLE OF THE BOOK “SISTER CARRIE” BY THEODORE DREISER)”
The topicality of the research. The adjective is an inseparable part of Grammar and it plays a great role in the Uzbek and English morphology. It is one of the independent parts of speech in the Uzbek and English languages. A number of researches were carried on many features of adjectives. However, there are not enough materials and researches about lexical-semantic features of adjectives. In order to show the adjective lexemes the indication of semantic method is paralyzed. It shows the importance of the theme.
The aim and tasks of the research The aim of this work is to open the meaning of adjectives and types of their semantic functional indication.
In order to gain this aim these tasks below are to complete:

  To describe adjectives and its linguistic component in Uzbek and English;
  
• 
  To study and interpret reasons of null derivation of lexemes of adjectives;
  
• 
  To indicate semantic-functional features of adjectives in Uzbek and English and to analyse their possibilities in context.
  

The subject and object of research. As an object we used the book “Sister Carrie” of Theodore Dreiser, a famous English writer and Uzbek language interpretive dictionary.
The subject of this work is the semantic functional indication of adjectives in Uzbek and English
Methods of research. The research used in research work: dialectic, comparative and historical methods
The degree of novelty of the research:
The new sides of this work:
-We gave definitions to the adjective in Uzbek, English and its linguistic features;
-To learn the reason of figurative means of adjectives;
-To illuminate semantic-functional features of adjectives in example of the book “Sister Carrie”.
Practical value and degree of embed.
The importance and application of the work:
This work helps us to learn the semantic role of adjectives.
The practical side is to make dictionaries and to do monographs using this work.
The results is obtained:
The adjective as a parts of speech and its linguistic nature.
- To learn the lexemes of adjectives expressing feelings.
- To show the semantic functional indication of adjectives.
Many articles were published in “Образование и наука в XXI веке” educational journal of Russia and “Models and methods for increasing the efficiencyof innovative research” of German International online conference.
The structure of dissertation: The research work consists of Introduction, 3 chapters, conclusions on chapters, Conclusion and List of used literature.
General summary and recommendations. Modern Uzbek and English literary linguistics have been gained a lot of news, scientific researches and features as being more modern. Besides interest in problems of investigating the process of linguistic generalization in Uzbek linguistics, increasing effectiveness of sing of it, working on its increasing in usage has been raised recently. The information about including semantic groups of adjectives into Uzbek and English literary language was given in this research. According to this, current reasearch may be worked on in the future also.
