development in Karnataka with a view to analyse the inter-district variations in
educational development and studied the relationship between educational
development and economic development enquiring into the relative changes in
educational and economic development between 1961-71.

(1986) studied the inter-taluk disparities in Karnataka with the help of
educational development indicator based on the educational development. Taluks were
grouped into different categories ranging from extreme backward to exceptionally highly
developed taluks. She concluded that educational opportunities to the children are
lesser in educationally backward regions. Hence there is need to promote educational
development of backward areas.
