as Turnitin.com, if administered in the proper manner, can play a significant role in assisting professors to do just

RECOMMENDATIONS
Educate students as to what plagiarism is and what it is not
Spend time explaining how to research, how to synthesize their research and how to paraphrase
Inform students upfront that they will be submitting to an anti-plagiarism program
FUTURE RESEARCH
Continuing to periodically test the students in the research for a longitudinal study would provide more data
to discover if the results would be strengthened or weakened over the academic careers of the students.
Additionally, future research testing the recommendations with control groups would be beneficial to discover
whether this research is generalizable.
