its head again. (…) Therefore after the salvation of the homeland the 
National Struggle will continue in a different form and under different 
conditions, and that struggle will only be related to ideas and principles. 
(…) But for the motherland’s peace and calm let those who like Judas 
wander among us at least not sit round the same table with us, not eat 
from the morsels we are eating and not have their lips touching the bowl 
we are holding, let them stay away from us. Because, as much as it is not 
within our rights to punish them for not being on our side during the 
calamitous days, it is as much our right to abhor them and to be repelled 
by them. 
Naturally, the success of the Greek landing in İzmir was due only to the 
spinelessness of the representatives of the government and the municipal authorities,
