EPI Programme
After the MOH formulated the Universal Childhood Immunisation Programme in
1984, the vaccination rate rose from approximately 60% to over 80% currently.
Vaccination in childhood has become a part of the Integrated Management of
Childhood Illness (IMCI) activities since 1996, and new strategies such as vaccination
for infants and combination with vitamin A provision on national immunization days
(NIDs) for polio have been strengthened. In addition, measles and neonatal tetanus
are mentioned as an objective of EPI and NID.
