for development of MICE industry. MICE industry in Uzbekistan is developing 
intensively, because of changing economic policy Uzbekistan is focusing more to develop 
tourism industry. In addition, among main requirements of MICE industry transportation 
infrastructure has been developing and making more comfort for tourists such as modern 
airlines, fast railway trains, city transportation. Besides, availability of modern means of 
communication, multilingual population, and availability of agencies to assist with 
logistics, translation and catering service can serve as fostering ground for MICE industry. 
Moreover, visa regulation to enter Uzbekistan got much simplified and citizens of 35 
countries can transit to Uzbekistan for up to 5 days without visa. Besides citizens of the 
post-soviet countries do not need a visa to visit Uzbekistan for stays of up to 60 days, 
more than 70 countries’ citizens can come 30 days without visa. So, Uzbekistan attracts 
international investors to open multinational corporations and international investors 
which can be the motivations to develop MICE industry.
Uzbekistan has huge opportunity on the development of both halal tourism and 
MICE industry because of its convenient location on the Great Silk Road and being 
situated in the middle of Central Asia. Its historical heritages, beautiful landscape and 
attractive natural scenery in addition to the country’s new and old shapes are attracting a 
lot of tourists around the world. Since vast majority of Uzbekistan’s population belong to 
Islamic faith and its neighboring countries are all majority Muslims the country becomes 
to go destination for many Muslims in all corners of the world. The other reasons why 
Muslim tourist visit Uzbekistan could be due to its beautiful Islamic monuments and 
mosques. Since many of Muslim scholars of old times were decedents from different cities 
of Uzbekistan who played important role in development of Islamic civilization, Muslims 
have special attachment to the country. Delicious halal national cuisines leave many 
tourists impressed. Even if restaurants service those meals are not officially halal certified, 
but because of the majority of country’s population is Muslim, thus their food is 
considered halal by default. Museums of ancient Muslim civilizations such as Ulugbek 
Observatory and Imam al Bukhariy museum and other monuments of Islamic civilization 
attack Muslims from all corners of the world. The historical cities such Samarkand, 
Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent which have special nostalgia in hearts of Muslim, motivate 
them to visit those cities in Uzbekistan. They are not only archeological but also historical 
cities which were important for ancient Islamic world for establishment of central hubs of 
both secular science and religious scholarship. Magnificent culture and heritages that 
stimulates to make annual international festivals which attracts millions of Muslim and 
non-Muslim tourists around the world every year. Friendly, easy going and welcoming

coming to Uzbekistan. Because of those reasons MICE industry not only developing in 
Uzbekistan, but also can make it one of the ultimate destinations for Halal MICE tourism.
