Название публикации: «METHODS AND GAMES USED IN TEACHING ENGLISH TO OLDER PRESCHOOL CHILDREN»

Annotation. This article discusses the importance of using a variety of fun and engaging methods used to stimulate interest in English among preschool children.
Key words: child, games, methods, speech, motivation, family, interactive learning.
The 21st century is the age of information technology, how fast technology is entering our lives, English, which is recognized as a world language and has been accepted as a working language for many international organizations, is also spreading around the world with the same consistency.
The main task of learning English in kindergarten is to involve the child in the most interesting process of getting to know another language and culture of the country of the language being studied. Bright and positive impressions associated with the process of learning English in kindergarten form a child's positive motivation for his successful study at school.
The study of English is carried out through game activities: songs, poems, the use of audio and video materials, drawing. Early learning of foreign languages is such learning, which is carried out on the basis of an intuitive - practical approach in the period from 3 years before entering school. Preschool age is especially favorable for starting to learn a foreign language: children of this age are particularly sensitive to linguistic phenomena, they develop an interest in comprehending their speech experience, the "secrets" of the language. They easily and firmly memorize a small amount of language material and reproduce it well.
The desire to learn how words familiar from childhood sound in an unfamiliar language contributes to the development of the child's curiosity, the comprehensive development of the child and his horizons.
In the classroom, the children get acquainted with vocabulary, elementary grammar, learn English poems and songs, put on skits. Systematic classes allow you to consolidate the material being studied, the importance of the development of the child through the game allows you to make classes exciting and not boring.
Play is a child's natural and humane form of learning. Teaching through play, we teach children not in the way that it is convenient for us,elder, to give educational material, but as it is natural and convenient for children to accept it.
The use of a variety of useful and interesting methods is important in developing their interest in the English language.

    1. Watching cartoons in English.

Learning happens when we do something interesting: listen to music, watch a movie, cartoon, and communicate with an interesting person. Krashen believes that acquisition is more effective than learning. He advises devoting more time to natural perception, rather than mechanical learning25That is why audiovisual authentic materials need to be used in teaching children as a means of promoting interactive learning methods: in order to study the language in a natural way, it is recommended to use interesting materials. No acquisition will occur if the child learns from boring textbooks. Children are easily interested in the plot of cartoons, so they watch them with pleasure. For example, while watching, the perception of natural English speech by ear is trained, the correct pronunciation is formed. The child quickly memorizes new words and phrases if they are associated with a scene from a cartoon. Besides, a large selection of cartoons in English allows you to choose a story on any subject. It is also easy to choose materials for different ages. They can be used at any time during the teaching or training as long as they are relevant to the point or have been designed with a specific purpose.

    1. Learning English together with child’s family.

Family members and caregivers are key to a child’s behavior. The little ones learn how to behave by observing the world around them, and by imitating what they see.

Therefore, in order for children to want to learn English, people around them also have to demonstrate a certain eagerness to learn the language (they may already speak it). Just like how parents should provide a good example to motivate kids to learn how to read, they should also provide a good example to motivate them to learn English. If there’s an English-speaking environment at home created by parents or caregivers, a child will easily get used to using it as a second language and will learn it naturally. There is no better way to motivate a child than to show them the impact of what they are learning. If they think it is useless, they will not show any interest. Finding a way to show the practicality of English is crucial if we want children to be excited about learning. This can be done in many ways: by traveling, or communicating with other children who do not speak their own language.

    1. Learning poem and songs in English

Their use in the teaching of English is undoubtedly very natural. We cannot deny that, as human beings, we have a special ear for music. If we try teaching alphabets to a child, for example, we will realize that the child picks them up faster and hence will memorize them better if we sing them out for them. Songs are a form of language that use tones and rhythm and they are also the media of universal language for everybody. Another important reason is that songs make up a powerful means of teaching English at all ages. We can use songs as a classroom activity in order to enrich our students’ vocabulary or to improve their grammar and the different English accents. Singing songs not only helps children remember important information but it also makes the classroom learning more lively, as it was stated by Linda Campbell and Bruce Campbell 26

    1. Playing games with a child to in learning English.

Play is a very significantpart of what life means to children at this stage of their development. Teachers should thereforepromote learning through play as much as possible. Games with flashcards, competitions, races, and so on, are among the most exciting ways in which children learn. As well as encouragingactive learning, they help

developsocial skills. While games are well documented as being beneficial for learning at any age, their presence is non-negotiable for learning in young people. Cognitive psychologists, doctors and educators agree that games are key to healthy development in childhood, starting as early as 1896 with the work of Karl Groos who argued that, through play, kids practise the skills necessary for survival in adulthood. After all, play lets children demonstrate and practise not only what they know but also what they don’t know. Ithelpsthemto:
