• 
Draw various quadrilaterals on sticky notes, one per sheet. Place 
one label on the back of a student, without letting him or her see the 
shape. Ask the student to identify the shape on his or her back by 
asking the teacher four attribute questions about the shape.
The questions must have a “yes” or “no” answer. If the question is 
not clear, the teacher may also reply:

Please ask that another way.
• 
I don’t know how to answer that.

Ask students to create a rap for a quadrilateral that includes its 
attributes.

Ask students to create Bingo cards with quadrilaterals in the grids.
The caller calls out attributes of shapes; students identify the 
quadrilateral being described and cover that block.

Ask students to create and complete a quadrilateral trifold with 
the three sections: picture of shape, written attributes, name of 
quadrilateral.

Ask students to create mystery bags by putting a quadrilateral 
inside a paper bag. On the outside, they write the attributes for 
their quadrilateral. Students switch bags with a partner and use the 
descriptions to identify what is inside. Students open bag to verify 
their answer.
