Some people think that women should not be allowed to work in the police force.
-Do you agree or disagree?
There are several arguments about women working in the police. I agree with those who think that women should be prohibited to work in the police, while there can also be the contribution of females in the police affairs to some extent.
On the one side, women may be allowed to work in the police although it is mainly a male dominating organization. Firstly, women are more sensible and have better problem-solving skills as they do not normally either use force or give a shot to criminal suspects. This quality gives them an upper hand in solving criminal cases more wisely and calmly, compared to male officers who can easily get furious and make snap decisions. Secondly, there are some tasks and situations that only female officers could and should deal with. If the unlawful activity under concern is an offence like domestic violence, sexual harassment, discrimination and the case regarding female victims and suspects, women in the police force are more appropriate and have better understanding about such cases.
On the other side, in most cases, females should not be hired to work in the police force for several reasons. Working in the police force and finding out elusive thieves, robbers and chasing law breakers in the streets require great strength and physical ability that most women do not have. It is true that they can be vulnerable and less physically strong to defend themselves or work with violent criminals. Moreover, police work is likely to negatively influence the family life of many women which means that they cannot operate their missions on time. Because there may be some emergency situations in which anyone in the workforce can be called to come and sort out the problem.
To conclude, considering the physical demands of the work and in case of some sudden problematic cases, female workers should not be involved in the police force.
