MODERN TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION

Annotation: 
This thesis provides information on modern technologies in education and the 
benefits of their application to the education system. The thesis also focuses on the development of 
active learning skills of students through modern educational technologies.

In our modern life, science is developing rapidly. There are many effective forms of teaching 
science and they are recognized by many people. There are many benefits to using modern 
technology in education. But many tools are obsolete. That is, it is not interesting for students. It's 
normal for them. They get bored quickly. Or they do not get enough knowledge due to lack of class 
time. There are several solutions to this. Students need to be interested in new foreign technologies. 
They need to be encouraged to take more action. Flipped learning is a pedagogical approach in 
which the student must read, study and think independently. 
The term “flipped learning” was created in 2012 by Jonathan Bergman and Aoran Sams, high 
school chemistry teachers in Colorado, USA. They started to change their teaching methods in 
2007. As a result, they create this Flipped learning method. This will completely change the 
dynamics of traditional education. As a result, students become more active and the teacher 
encourages them to take a creative look at science, addressing their ideas. The teacher gives the 
lesson topic and presentations to the students to review at home in advance. Throughout the lesson, 
teachers focus on identifying and resolving misconceptions, developing problem-solving skills, and 
collaborating with students. In class, they discuss the topic. As a result, the student is actively 
involved in the lesson. In addition, the student does not waste his free time outside of class. 
However, problems and assignments that used to be considered homework are now solved in the 
classroom. There are several advantages to this method. Because the acquisition of knowledge is 
independent outside the classroom, each student learns it according to their individual abilities. In 
traditional education, the teaching method requires each student to master and understand at the 
same time. Flipped learning is also convenient for low-achieving students. Because they study 
independently, as far as possible. This method encourages students to prepare for the lesson, a new 
topic. Students come to class with new ideas and questions as they explore a new topic at home 
using the internet and modern technology. It is a great way to engage students in classroom and 
nurture them responsibly. It is also not a problem to miss classes for any reason, such as illness. 
Because he can read a new subject independently. In traditional education, a student may lag behind 
his or her peers if he or she misses class. The content of the topic is enriched. Because in traditional 
education, the student is limited only by the information provided by the teacher. They can learn 
more by reading independently. This will help them better understand the new topic. Because 
students use their computers or phones independently at home, the school does not have to invest in 
hundreds of new computers or classroom equipment. The state will also benefit from this. The 
money that should be allocated for computers and classroom equipment can be diverted to other 
areas.
Flipped learning is a subversive learning. The question may arise. Can education be 
overthrown? You will find more about this topic in the article. Flipped learning is a combination of 
4 columns. That is, F is a flexible environment. Flipped learning requires diversity in teaching. The 
teacher should frequently change the learning process, classes or room, encourage group work or 
independent work. Students need to be able to adapt. L - learning culture. In traditional education, 
the teacher is the model and the primary source of information. In comparison, Flipped Learning

focuses on teaching the student on purpose, resulting in them having the opportunity to gather more 
information about a topic during class time. As a result, students are actively involved in building 
their knowledge. I - intentional content. Flipped learning teachers are constantly thinking about 
using the Flipped learning model and how it can help students develop conceptually. They need to 
figure out what they need to teach and what materials students can apply to themselves. P - 
professional educator (professional pedagogue). The role of a professional, demanding educator is 
also more important, of course, than the traditional model. Throughout the lesson, they should 
constantly monitor students, provide them with timely feedback, and evaluate their work. 
Professional teachers are thoughtful in their work, connect with each other to improve their lessons, 
respond constructively to criticism, and are patient with classroom chaos.
According to Kari Astrom, founder of the Flipped Learning Network (FLN), “This method is 
to create an opportunity for the student to actively participate. It is a pedagogical approach in which 
the student moves directly from the learning area to the individual learning area, resulting in a 
dynamic, interactive learning environment, ” he explains. This type of education justifies itself 
every year. According to a 2014 survey by the Flipped Learning Network, 78% of teachers used the 
method, and 96% of those who tried it recommended the method to others.
Although the role of the professional teacher in the lesson is less in this way, the teacher is an 
important component in the practical application of the Flipped learning model. In summary, 
Flipped learning effectively improves student's learning experiences by comparing Flipped learning 
with traditional teaching. A teacher who is able to successfully apply technology-based approaches 
to his or her work is a leader in modern education.
