2.3.4. Flexibility in Operations 
An associate should ensure flexibility in logistic operations & act with agility. There are many instances 
where there are changes in volume and weight, destination, etc., before the actual transportation. 
Such requirements of the shipper need to be accommodated to become a trustworthy logistics 
partner in the long run. However, if there are additional costs incurred due to such changes, the 
revised freight needs to be worked in an acceptable manner accommodating all stakeholders. 
•
An associate has to adopt the following process while booking consignments & processing 
them before despatch
•
Suggest to transport the goods using the 'company's fleet or to tie up with other transporters. 
•
Post confirmation of the order by the customer, print proforma invoices with consignment 
details and communicate the same.
•
Check whether the vehicle meets the regulatory requirement in terms of width, height and 
length of the vehicle concerning the number of axles. Complete the Lorry Receipt (LR), hand 
over one copy to the customer, one copy to the truck driver and retain a copy for records. 
•
Complete the transit insurance forms and Goods and Services Tax (GST) permits for 
dispatching vehicles and agreement sheet to be given at destination along with consignment.
•
Finally check papers like road permit are available with the transporter and coordinate with 
the customer.
