Language skills improved using SNSs 

The next question looks at the areas of English proficiency that the respondents believe to 

benefit the most from their use of SNSs. The questionnaire used 5-point Likert scale to rate 

the helpfulness of SNSs ‘Not helpful at all’ to ‘Extremely helpful’. The results show that 

majority of students (m=4.20) believe that that word processing software is very useful in 

developing their writing skills, they also agree that smartphone apps (m=4.30) and com-

puter software (m=4.10) can definitely develop their language skills The students think that 

online  video  and  audio  tools  are  extremely  helpful  in  enhances  listening  (m=4.00)  and 

speaking (m=4.00), the students agreed that SNSs improves their communication (m=3.90) 

and reading skills (m=3.80).
