First Part

Objectives:

At the end of the class, students will be able to:

  • use like and dislike expressions.
  • express their likes and dislikes correctly.
  • express the likes and dislikes of others.

They are used to express that you like or don’t like something.

Note: We use don’t mind with activities (cleaning) and things (soccer) but not with people.

Let’s practice.

Jack loves water, really likes being outdoors, really likes sports, hates towns and cities, and doesn’t like loud music.

Laura loves spending money, doesn’t like being outdoors, hates doing housework but doesn’t mind cooking, likes dancing but hates sports.

  • build sentences using likes and dislikes expressions.
  • build sentences using nouns, pronouns and verbs in the –ing form to express likes and dislikes.
