5. Based on Russell’s interactions with his staff, what advice would you give him that you think 
would have the biggest positive impact on his skills as a new supervisor?
While many first-time supervisors struggle with micromanaging, Russell took the opposite 
approach. He appeared to be too hands-off and didn’t give his staff enough attention or 
direction. The best advice for Russell is to spend time one-on-one with his employees, 
listening to them and finding out their needs and concerns.
