DOSING OF THERMAL LOAD
In conditions of high ambient temperature and air humidity, one should carefully consider the dosing of heat load, the ratio between heat load, on the one hand, and the intensity of the physical work performed, on the other. The complexity of the task here is that the air temperature itself does not reflect the heat load experienced by a person performing physical exercises in these conditions. In addition to the air temperature, the thermal balance, as noted above, is influenced by factors such as air humidity, as well as radiation load caused by the direct action of heat rays from radiation sources (solar radiation coming from overheated objects, etc.).
Therefore, when assessing the thermal load experienced by a person, it is necessary to take into account not only the readings of a conventional (dry) thermometer, but also information regarding air humidity and radiation conditions. Recall that the humidity of the air can be indirectly estimated by the difference in readings recorded by a dry and wet thermometer. In this case, a dry thermometer will register the air temperature, and the readings of a wet thermometer characterize the intensity of evaporation from the surface of the thermometer, which, in turn, is proportional not only to the temperature, but also to the humidity of the surrounding air. Therefore, comparing the readings of a dry and wet thermometer, it is possible to determine both the air temperature and the water vapor content in it.
The radiation load can be estimated using the so-called "black ball thermometer". In this case, the measuring temperature element is placed in a sphere painted black. Since such a sphere very actively absorbs heat rays, in this case the readings of this thermometer will largely depend on the radiation load.
The thermal load experienced by the body is usually calculated as a function of the indicators of dry and wet thermometers, as well as the radiation load recorded by the method described above.
There are quite a lot of methods for monitoring the heat load, for example, a simple way to assess the heat load is to take into account the readings of only a wet thermometer (psychomotor). In this case, according to the literature sources mentioned above, it is recommended to rely on the following recommendations: at a temperature of 15.5 ° C according to a wet thermometer, there is no need to observe any additional precautions. At a temperature in the range of 16.2-18.4 °, a preliminary conversation should be held with persons engaged in physical exercises on thermoregulation, heat load, while emphasizing the importance of proper fluid intake. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to their sufficient saturation with salts and trace elements.
At a temperature of 21.6 - 23.8 ° according to a wet thermometer, it is recommended to take a break in classes every 20-30 minutes, mandatory drinking and reducing the intensity of the loads performed. At a temperature within 24.5 - 26.1 °, it is necessary to make significant changes to the exercise lesson program (in the training session program), reducing its volume and intensity. And finally, at a temperature exceeding 26.5 °, according to a wet thermometer, it is recommended to cancel physical exercises.
In conclusion, we emphasize that the thermal load can be estimated only on the basis of a close assessment of the air temperature, its speed of movement, humidity and conditions of human radiation exchange with the environment.
