History of insitute
The training of engineering personnel in the Jizzakh region dates back to 1977, with the opening of the Jizzakh “General Technical Faculty” of the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute. At the initial stage, 21 teachers began to work at the faculty, including 4 candidates of sciences.
The Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1992 by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 28, 1992 and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 125 dated March 11, 1992 on the basis of the Jizzakh branch of the Tashkent Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
In accordance with the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 25, 1992, Academician N.R. was appointed rector of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute. Rashidov. Under the leadership of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the Republic, the educational, scientific, material and technical base of the institute was supplemented with modern technical means. In connection with the need to train personnel in new specialties, departments and faculties in new areas were created at the institute.
Since July 2003, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Ibrahim Solikhovich Sadykov has been appointed rector of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute. The institute carried out spiritual and educational, educational and methodological work, used advanced pedagogical technologies in the educational process.
From 2012 to 2016, the institute was headed by Ergash Alibekovich Saliev. Over the years, the institute has done a lot of work in all areas. In particular, there are ample opportunities for the accelerated development of science and education.
Particular attention was paid to the training of research and scientific-pedagogical personnel, improving the material and technical base and financial condition, providing methodological assistance to existing academic lyceums and professional colleges in the region, retraining and advanced training of teaching personnel.
Since September 29, 2016, the Institute is headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Alisher Kodirkulovich Usmankulov.
After A. Usmankulov was appointed rector of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute, under his leadership, a large amount of work is being carried out to improve the material and technical base of the institute, increase the scientific potential of the institute's teaching staff, and establish international relations in the field of science and education.
At the initiative of A. Usmankulov, changes were made in the structure of the institute. New faculties “Service”, “Power engineering and Radioelectronics”, “Engineering of Building Materials”, “Chemical Technologies” were created. In addition, eleven new departments were created and staffed with the teaching staff.
At the Faculty of Architecture and Construction, a regional center for Advanced Training and Retraining of Architects - Designers and Builders was established. On the basis of the Department of "Architectural design" the Politex Me'mor Loyiha project group was founded, which is engaged in the design of design estimates for social construction projects.
Over the past four years, 16 new areas of bachelor's degree, 7 new specialties of master's degree have been opened at the institute, the total number of students has increased to 8500.
From 2017 to the present day, the number of defended theses of doctors of science (DsC) and doctors of philosophy (PhD) has increased fivefold. To date, 25 teachers of the institute are studying at targeted doctoral studies, more than 100 teachers conduct scientific research as applicants.
The results of research and methodological activities of the research team of the Institute are regularly presented in articles, monographs, textbooks, teaching aids and other materials.
Articles are regularly published in international scientific journals, including the Scopus and Web of Science database journals.
In recent years, special attention has been paid to the development of international cooperation. So on joint educational programs with Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, Ivanovo State University of Chemical Technology, Moscow Power Engineering Research University, Kazan Federal University and Don State Technical University, agreements were signed and students were recruited in nine areas. In March 2021, an agreement was signed on cooperation with the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent on the implementation of a joint educational program in the direction of "Mechanical Engineering".
Cooperation agreements have been concluded with the following higher educational institutions: South Ural State University, Gomel State Technical University, Brest State Technical University, Belarusian National Technical University, Klagenfurt-Austria University, Gdansk University of Technology-Poland, Zilina-Slovakia University, Hamburg Technological University, Berlin Technical University - Germany
Particular attention is paid to the development of the material and technical base of the institute. In particular, within the framework of the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures for the further development of the higher education system", 96 types of modern laboratory equipment were brought to the institute and installed in the amount of 1.0 million US dollars.
Within the framework of grant projects, the institute was provided with the most modern teaching and laboratory equipment worth more than 300 thousand US dollars, intended for research work.
