For any researcher who is conducting a study the main goal is to prove the hypothesis he or she proposes. The hypothesis usually represent believes of the researcher. If this research deals with English speaking, so the researcher could propose some changes in the way of teaching EFL communication through compiling materials and prove her believes through conducting experiments. The purpose of conveying a study usually comes from some personal reasons or experiences of a researcher. In case of this study, it’s also personal experience that provoked the researcher to raise the question of the importance of teaching English communication to the foundation year throughout curriculum. The changes that took place at the Uzbek State World Languages University this year certainly have some beneficial sides, but one negative impact that really worth mentioning is the fact that materials are not adopted for young learners there anymore.
The main purpose of fulfilling the research was to see whether effectively selected materials on teaching communication for the 1st year learners in Uzbekistan environment could be flourishing with the help of specific strategies and this way of teaching could make youngsters to learn foreign language efficiently, so that learners can take benefits from lessons and are involved in learning process.
The aim of investigation was to explore most effective materials of teaching foreign languages for the 1st year students. Day by day various strategies are found in order to adapt materials for speaking and take their attention. So, should teachers find out new direction of developing communicative competence or adapt other kinds of activities in Uzbekistan environment? In this dissertation the researcher endeavoured to find answer for this dilemma.
In the process of accomplishing this aim it is planned to observe several lessons of English, basely the lessons of teaching communication in primary courses (in the 1st English philology faculty, groups 2108 and 2109); to define the most efficient and useful methods of improving communicative competence in teaching EFL, problems and interferences learners faced when teacher overused only one type of material, investigate them and form strategies helping to avoid them.
The goal of the work can be seen as attaining the best results after three months practicum that is testing students should be progressed in learning English, understanding everything clear which was taught and using it appropriately in different contexts of their communication process. Lastly, the study is based on defining the following questions as:
How effectively methods can help and how can teachers help their learners to develop communicative competence in learning process?
How to classify the most fruitful strategies for young learners in improving their communication skills?
Could teachers find out useful materials for English speaking and adapt them?
