Breaks play an important role in oratory and guide speech. A pause is a temporary cessation of sound, during which the activity of the speech organs stops and it prolongs the flow of speech. The break is silence. But silence can also be expressive. This is what KS Stanislavsky said about the break. "Breaks are a basic and important element of our speech." There are several classifications of breaks in the theory of public speaking: hezitian breaks, that is, breaks in thinking; intonation - logical breaks - mechanically formed beats that separate one speech clock from another; psychological breaks - they are used, for example, to give meaning to an entire sentence ("speech without them is lifeless" Stanislavsky); intonation-syntax breaks- state, physiological breaks. Many guides misuse intonation-syntax breaks in their speech, without which there is no correct speech based on grammatical rules. Intonation-syntax pauses follow punctuation marks in written speech and are distinguished by their duration. The shortest break is instead of a comma, the longest is a full stop. The French theorist of oratory D. Doriaxa said: “Whoever pauses in his speech - breathes correctly, pronounces better and articulates more easily. Punctuation means to feel and control the speed of one's speech, it means to speak clearly and help others to understand it, it means to understand what is being said. The guide must control his diction. Diction is the level of clear pronunciation of syllables and words in speech. “Swallowing” sounds and syllables is forgivable in everyday conversation, but it reduces the quality of speech in formal speeches and prevents them from accepting content. Having good diction helps to maintain the speed of active energy speech in any situation, conveys the goal to the listener. In practice, every speaker has a problem with diction, which must be constantly worked on to improve it (following the recommendations in the manuals on speech techniques). Another important quality of a guide's speech is that it is emotional, that is, that the speaker speaks with emotion. It is impossible to talk with the same kind of emotion, for example, about the victory in the Great Patriotic War, the discoveries of scientists, the ecological problems of the country. Guide speech should affect both the mind and the emotional aspects of the mind. According to psychophysiologists, speaking with emotions changes the pattern of speech perception, affects thinking, memory and attention. This section of the textbook is not a collection of guidelines for improving speech technique and culture. Its task is to help the guide to determine the main directions of work on the language. And for the creative person this process should be continuous. Forming a rich, accurate, clean, figurative, expressive, understandable speech is an integral part of improving the professional skills of the guide.
