Advantages:
1) High energy consumption. They develop a large force with compact parameters.
2)Can be removed from the pumping station for a long distance.
3)Short time to develop significant effort and smooth regulation.

Disadvantages:


1)Contamination: possible leakage of the working fluid, at high pressure.
2)The working fluid can heat up, cool down, get dirty, which complicates the work.
3)Constant energy consumption both during movement and at rest.

  1. Draw a schematic diagram pneumatic actuation system.


The air enters the pneumatic system through the air intake 1. The filter 2 purifies the air in order to prevent damage to the drive elements and reduce their wear. Compressor 3 compresses the air. Since, according to Charles' law, the air compressed in the compressor has a high temperature, before air is supplied to consumers (usually pneumatic motors), the air is cooled in the heat exchanger 4 (in the refrigerator). To prevent icing of pneumatic motors due to the expansion of air in them, as well as to reduce corrosion of parts, a moisture separator 5 is installed in the pneumatic system. The receiver 6 serves to create a supply of compressed air, as well as to smooth out pressure pulsations in the pneumatic system. In the oil sprayer 9, grease is added to the compressed air, thereby reducing the friction between the moving parts of the pneumatic actuator and preventing them from jamming. A pressure reducing valve 10 is necessarily installed in the pneumatic actuator, which provides compressed air to the pneumatic motors at constant pressure. Distributor 12 controls the movement of the output links of the pneumatic motor. In a pneumatic motor (pneumatic motor or pneumatic cylinder) 13, the energy of compressed air is converted into mechanical energy.
