Vocational education Education programmes that are designed for learners to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies specific to a particular occupation, trade, or class of occupations or trades. Vocational education may have work-based components (e.g. apprenticeships, dualsystem education programmes). Successful completion of such programmes leads to labour market-relevant vocational qualifications acknowledged as occupationally-oriented by the relevant national authorities and/or the labour market. 	Vocational education and training (VET) Education and training which aim to equip people with knowledge, know-how, skills and/or competences required in particular occupations or more broadly on the labour market. (Source:CEDEFOP 2011).
	validation A term used by some degree-awarding bodies to mean programme approval.
	virtual learning environment (VLE) An intranet or password-only interactive website giving access to learning opportunities electronically. These might include such resources as course handbooks, information and reading lists; blogs, message boards and forums; recorded lectures; and/or facilities for online seminars (webinars).
	Visual-motor Co-ordination of what is seen with an action. For example, one uses visual-motor coordination when catching a ball.
