Private provider of special education: a private or nondistrict special education program that provides the
educational component of a child’s IEP and is subject to program approval under the NH Rules. Private provider of
special education does not mean a public charter school or a public academy.
Privatization: is the effort to bring the marketplace into public education. Some school districts are experimenting
with hiring private companies to run particular schools and programs.
Profile: a graphic representation of the results of several comparable tests. A profile is useful in identifying general
areas of strength or those needing reinforcement.
