Exercise 5: Grammar & Vocabulary
Read the process description below and fill in the
blanks with the missing word or phrase. The sentences
are worded DIFFERENTLY to the Samples given in the
answers to exercises 1-4.
The

Overall, there are seven ………….. stages in this

Firstly, the bees build a dome-shaped or box-like

by their scent, and they collect nectar, a sticky, sugary
substance, from each flower that they visit. This substance is

When the bees return to the hive, the nectar is deposited
into the cells. Once this is done, the nectar is cooled down by
the movement of air created by the flapping of the bees’
