There is currently a discussion as to whether
schools should only
teach subjects which can aid people to succeed in their career prospects.
This implies
that subjects such as music and sports are not worth offering
since, for most students, they do not directly offer many career prospects. 
I
genuinely think
that studying music and taking up sports are just as
important.
Firstly,
students who participate in art, music, and sports receive a
broader education. Although most students may not work in music or
sport, having a broad education that includes subjects like these can
provide them with greater creativity and better physical and mental health.
These qualities can significantly influence someone’s level of success in
their career and personal life. 
There is also evidence to suggest that
children and adolescents who are artistic and athletic are much more prone
to being in good physical and mental shape 
in their old age.
This is
extremely important for quality of life, and it should not be overlooked. 
Besides that
, subjects such as music, sports, and art assist learners in
identifying their interests and hobbies at an early age in their education.
Finding out what you are truly passionate about at a young age will allow
you to carry that passion into adulthood. 
It is crucial to remember that
arts, sports, and music assist students in finding a balance in their
academic learning. It goes without saying that if students only learn
English and mathematics at school, their lives will be extremely
monotonous. Having a healthy balance 
can
improve overall student
performance, leading to greater career prospects.
Mainstream society
has 
a very narrow definition 
of what it means
to be successful.
