While I partially agree that 
social skills 
are
often
a more accurate indicator of employee performance than academic
qualifications alone, I also believe that 
this is not always the case. 
Firstly, it is reasonable to assume that
communication skills are
central to most, if not all, jobs nowadays, as most positions require
constant interaction with colleagues and clients. Furthermore, with the
emergence of social media and other online communication tools, people
are arguably interacting more than ever. 
This increased level of
interaction 
makes it even more crucial for employees to excel in their
communication. 
Secondly,
networking is 
arguably a significant part 
of employee
success in all jobs, whether client-facing or technical.
For
example,
employees with excellent interpersonal skills 
are more likely
to 
contribute to a collaborative and productive atmosphere within their
company. They also tend to project their company positively when dealing
with external stakeholders, strengthening their brand image. 
Research suggests that
positive work environments 
lead to
higher
levels of productivity and happiness throughout departments and
companies as a whole. This often leads to greater employee retention and
higher profitability in the long term, as staff members tend to be happier
and more settled in their jobs.
Nevertheless, 
there are specific jobs where academic or practical
qualifications are essential for carrying out the work. Doctors, nurses,
engineers, police officers, and many other professionals need to hold the
necessary qualifications to prove they have the technical knowledge and
practical training to work in their field.
