    2.2. Peculiarities of Wordsworth's Poetics

    Rapture, beauty, love, nature, dreams, delight, pleasure, tears, sadness, loneliness - these are the few that we feel when reading poetry about Wodsworth 's childhood .

    As a special social phenomenon, childhood is historical in romantic poets. At historically different stages of the development of society, it had a different content and structure, while, as you know, the attitude of adults to childhood was also different. The meaning of all meaningful changes lies not only in the acquisition, appropriation by the child of social norms, but also in the very development of social, social properties, qualities that are inherent in human nature. Moreover, the main, internally embedded goal of childhood in general and of each child in particular is growing up.
    Wordsworth , Coleridge, Keats are great poets, fighters for freedom and equality, individuals who were able to overcome their ailments and fears with perseverance. Wordsworth is a value that even today is unattainable by poets. The theme of childhood is symbolic, philosophical, universally beautiful, it depicts the eternal problems of mankind
    In the ballad “We are seven”, the poet meets a girl who tells him about the death of her brother and sister, but when asked how many children are left in the family, she replies that there are seven, as if considering them alive. The understanding of death is inaccessible to children's consciousness, and since the girl often plays on the grave of the dead, she believes that they are somewhere nearby.
    Among the poems on a rural theme, “The Ruined Hut” (1797-1798 ) should be especially noted. In the center of the story is the story of the soldier's widow Margarita, in whose arms children die one after another. Margarita's confession resonates in the soul of a lonely wanderer, looking for shelter, eager to share loneliness and sadness with someone.
    In the work "The Dreams of Poor Susanna" another theme is distinct, characteristic of Wordsworth's poems about the fate of the village. Having lost communion with nature, having broken natural ties with it, a person, as it were, loses a large part of his vital energy. Nostalgic memories of past happiness in the bosom of nature begin to torment him, and once in urban conditions, he does not find a place for himself, like poor Susanna, remembering her native hills and a house that looks like a pigeon's nest, where she was not so lonely and scared.
    Excellent possession of the ballad form, poetic vocabulary, conveying the meaning of ordinary phenomena in high artistic images, allows the poet to remain faithful to the principles proclaimed in the Preface to the Lyrical Ballads. Thus, in The Old Cumberland Beggar , Wordsworth poeticizes the wanderer, for he is free, is in the midst of the "mighty loneliness" of nature, which exists only for him, he does not belong to the house, erroneously called industry. The ruined hut is a generalized image of all villages and villages abandoned by the inhabitants, swept away by the industrial revolution. Wordsworth sees the tragedy of the nation not so much in the change in the usual age-old way of life, but in its psychological incompatibility with the new order.
    Everything that Wordsworth depicted on the theme of virginity, all hardships are given against the backdrop of nature: a beggar sits on a distant rock, a cat plays with withered leaves, a deaf peasant lies under a pine tree, etc. He measures time with flowering springs, suffering summers, abundant fruits in autumn cold long winters. He translates the subtlest shades of the psyche into the language of nature. Such a deficiency of the human body as deafness , Wordsworth depicts as follows: for the deaf, “a deep mountain valley with ringing streams is dead, he does not hear its music; on a summer morning he is not awakened by the solemn chorus of birds, he is not pleased with the booming “coo-coo” in the noisy forest; it is not for him that the bees sing and buzz in the flowers. When strong winds shake the wide chest of the lake and it sings, plays and roars with thousands of seething waves, the wind bends the tops of trees to the ground and rustles in the reeds - it does not hear the music of the storm - it sees only a silent picture. He does not hear the rattle of a plow turning over heavy clods of earth, he does not hear the ringing of a scythe and the crunch of grass, he does not hear the rustle of ears of corn when his sickle cuts the stems, he does not hear the cheerful noise of labor in a bad time ”(“ Excursion Book ").
    Wordsworth, being an opponent of urban culture, was not particularly drawn to science. He learned the world by direct contact with nature. "A child, putting a shell to his ear, hears the roar of the ocean." “Nature is known not by the mind, but by the sensitive and perceiving heart. Nature is the greatest teacher. Science is looking for a distant truth, and the poet sings the songs of today, he is echoed by today's humanity, in the face of today's truth.
    In Wordsworth's work there is a share of mysticism and deification of nature, there is a little moralization and piety, but all this is lost in his deeply lyrical and simple poetry. In the works of Wordsworth, a peasant, a soldier who returned from service, a peddler , and peasant children found a place (“A Noble Peasant "; We _ are seven "; " The idiot Boy ", etc. ).
    Sky pilgrim and minstrel!
    Or does the earth seem unclean to you? Or, flying up and scattering a trill, Are you here in your heart with a nest in the dewy grass? You fall into your nest among the grasses, Folding your wings, interrupting the singing!
    To the limits of vision, fly higher,
    Pevun brave! And with a love song You and yours will not be separated by heights, Enchant the valley from above more wonderfully!
    Leave the shady forest for the nightingale;
    Among the rays is your solitude; Divine harmony is yours,
    Flowing over the world in rapture.
    So the sage soars, not striving into the distance, And in the sky with the house, keeping in touch!
