SWI Boards


In the switch interface unit (SWI) board names, A and B represent the version, and digits 0 and 1 represent the board configuration models. Boards with the same basic functions but different configurations are named separately for identification.
Figure 5, Figure 6, and Figure 7 show the location of service interfaces on various SWI boards. Table 2 describes the specifications of service interfaces on various SWI boards.

SWIA0

Base GE port

These ports are used to connect to the Base plane.

An SWIA0 board provides 8 GE ports. The GE ports support 1000 Mbit/s Base-T auto-negotiation and have two built-in indicators.

Fabric GE port

These ports are used to connect to the Fabric plane.

An SWIA0 board provides 8 GE electrical ports. The GE electrical ports support 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Base-T auto-negotiation and have two built-in indicators.

SWIB0

Base GE port

These ports are used to connect to the Base plane.

An SWIB0 board provides eight 1G Ethernet ports and one clock cascading port. The ports support 1G Base-T auto-adaptation and have two built-in indicators.

Fabric GE port

These ports are used to connect to the Fabric plane.

An SWIB0 board provides eight 10GE auto-adaptive switching ports.

SWIB1

Base GE port

These ports are used to connect to the Base plane.

An SWIB1 board provides eight 1G Ethernet ports and one clock cascading port. The ports support 1G Base-T auto-adaptation with two indicators.

An SWIB1 board provides eight 10GE auto-adaptive switching ports.

BITS clock input interface (BITS IN)

It provides external clock input.

An SWIB1 board provides one BITS clock input port (2 Mbit/s or 2 MHz).

Line clock input interface (LINE CLK)

It provides external clock input.

An SWIB1 board provides two 8 kHz line clock input ports.
