REVIEW 1 QUESTIONS

What makes communication easier?

Technology has definitely changed our lives. It makes things easier and simpler, and it gives us the chance to be more efficient. It has changed our habits, the way we work, the way we shop, even the way we date. Technology also changed how we communicate, and we can all agree that it makes communication a lot easier. But, does technology makes communication better? Not necessarily. We use smartphones, tablets, and computers to stay in touch with our friends, family, and coworkers no matter where they live and that’s a great thing. What about face to face conversations? Do we REALLY talk to each other or we are distracted by technology?

Yes, we can do so many things today a lot simpler than we used to. In terms of communication, we don’t have to wait to come home and call the person we want, and we don’t have to worry will we stay in touch with new friends we met on a vacation. Now we can rely on our smartphones, knowing that we are a few clicks away from each other. We have WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Messanger, Skype, just to name a few. The tools we are using today to communicate to each other are more about speed and efficiency – it is all simple and easy, you write a message and click Send. We get tons of emails and messages every day, and replying in depth can be time-consuming. So, instead of writing a proper message making sure the other person fully understands what we want to say, we write a short message – because it’s faster, and we often do that mechanically. This can lead to misunderstandings. The point is that even if we can send messages in a simple way, it doesn’t mean the communication will be easier.

  1. Do you think it is important to have a single international official language?

In my opinion, having an international language is a very important thing nowadays. Whenever you go the people of different nationalities speak English to understand each other better, you walk down the street - billboards and street signs are in English (mostly in Europe).

Global language is key to a conversation between governments, scientists, journalists, anyone who wants to communication! Isn't it amazing to have a chance to make friends and even business partners around the planet?

It also will help out tourists a lot!  if you're in the crowded place and you accidentally push a person, you can apologize with a simple "I'm sorry" and people won't think that you act impolitely.

You can ask citizens about the places to visit and eat. And if something happens in the hotel room you will be able to report administration without having a problem.

I can say without a doubt that the global language gives people lots of benefits!

In conclusion, I'd like to say that everyone has to know at least a second language just to feel more comfortable in today's world.

  1. What consequences this can lead to?

In recent decades have witnessed an increase in the usage of international language, raising many questions of the decrease in cultural identities. Although some drawbacks of a loss of culture appear legitimate, i think application of an international official language still pays dividends.

On the one hand, There are a great number of reasons promoting the importance of using international official language. First, the removal of languages barriers among countries would be conducive to the betterment in citizens’ living standards. In fact, By speaking the same language, students could experience a more progressive and standardised learning environment in a more developed nation, promoting their career prospects and higher living social status. Second, The usage of international language is invariably associated with an economic growth in every nation. This means that some multinational companies could freely render their outsourcing services and negotiate trade deals without worrying about the restrictions of language, which act as a significant contributor to the national incomes.

On the other hand, an international official language is instrumental in the loss of cultural distinctiveness. First,If worldwide individuals speak the same language, the likelihood of their ignorance of a mother tongue is inevitable. For example, due to a high degree of concentration on learning international English, young generations in Vietnam now have a propensity to despise the values and distort the true meaning of Vietnamese language. In addition, An international language would act as a deterrent for the maintenance of religious belief, social norms and valuable traditions in one country. This could be attributed to the fact that individuals are implanted with foreign culture and other religious ideas due to learning an international language.
