Objectives: To students skills to explain about the national flag of Uzbekistan
To practice students’ listening and understanding the topic
Lead-in
Objective: concentrate students attention to the questions
Materials: Handout 1 (some questions)
Time: 10 min
Procedure: At the beginning of the lesson teacher gives handout to the students which was written some questions. Students try to answer the questions
After that teacher shows some pictures;

1.What can you say about the flag of the republic of Uzbekistan ? 2.What can you see on the flag of the republic?
3.How can you explain the three colours and the stars?
4.Where is the flag of Uzbekistan flown internationally?
5.Why does the flag of Uzbekistan have three colours?
6.Why are there stars and a crescent moon on the flag?
7.What do you like about the flag? Why?
Possible answer
Adopted, 1992, 18 november, white, blue,green , 12 stars…..
Teacher asks students to discuss these questions.
Activity1.
Objective: Let students practice seeing and speaking .
Materials: Handout 2. ( consists of some pictures and questions)
Time: ( 15 min)

1.What do you feel if you see the flag in foreign countries?
2. Where can we see the national flag of Uzbekistan?
Suggested answers
Very happy, joyfull, strong, comfortable, free
At schools, institutes, colleges, squares, compitions and other places
The members of the group tell their own ideas to these questions.
Activity 3
Objective: let students practice reading and understanding for specific information.
Materials: Handout 3 (text which was taken from the book “English in topics”;)
Time: 15 min
Procedure:
Teacher distributes copies of the text which was taken from the book “English in topics”;)
; Students must look through the text immediately and try to understand and tell their ideas.
