The aim of the lesson:
Educational: - to learn how to prepare and make a presentation.
Developing: - to enable pupils to describe a health problem, cause and eff ects; - to enable pupils to prepare and make a presentation of a health problem; - to provide an opportunity for pupils to work creatively and cooperatively; - to develop writing, listening and speaking skills
Competence: SC6, SC and PC in making projects
Learning outcomes: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: establish cause and eff ect relationship; - prepare and make a presentation of a health problem.
Type of the lesson: non-standard, mixed

Equipment: Textbook; the DVD of the book; paper, colour pencils or markers, etc.

The Procedure of the lesson:
Organizing moment: - Greeting.
Pre-Activity
Homework checking. 5 min
The pupils in turn read the problems. The other pupil should give advice. They should compare and say which advice is better.
e.g. A: My brother has a pain in his ankle.
B: He should put a bandage on it and go to the doctor.
Main Part
Activity 1 Look at the projects. Answer the questions. 5 min Which poster do you like best? Why?
Objective: to generate interest in the topic
Ask the pupils to look at different projects. After a few minutes have a discussion on the questions. You may also analyze the content in the projects.
Activity 2a Work in pairs or in small groups. Think of a problem when you are sick. What is the cause and eff ect? Give advice with a solution. Make a poster. 20 min
Objective: to consolidate cause and eff ect relationship
The pupils work in pairs or small groups. They discuss and choose a problem. They think of cause and eff ects. Then they should write advice with a solution. They must put their ideas on a poster.

Objectives: to practise presentation skills; to develop giving positive feedback
STEP 1: The pupils present their posters.
STEP 2: Ask the pupils to listen to each presentation and say one good thing they have noticed. e.g. The presentation of Group 1 was simple and clear. The poster of Group 2 has a very interesting design
Homework 2 min
Ask the pupils to read at home the stories about “The needle tree” and “The strange bird with two heads”, and get prepared for class discussion.

I. Organizing moment: - Greeting.
STEP 1: Ask the pupils to read the story about “The needle tree” one more time.
STEP 2: Ask the following questions for understanding:
Where did the two brothers live?
Was the elder brother good? Why?
What happened with the older brother in the forest? Why?
Who helped him? Why?
Why did the magic tree give gold apples?
STEP 3: Have a class discussion on the moral of the story: It is important to be kind to people and other people will be kind to you. Ask if there are any other morals like that in Uzbek/Russian, etc. STEP 4: Ask the pupils to read the story about “The strange bird with two heads” one more time. STEP 5: Ask the following questions for understanding:
Why was the bird strange?
What did the left head do? Why?
How did the left head feel when the right head asked it for food?
What did the right head do? Why?
What happened with the bird? Why?
STEP 6: Have a class discussion on the moral of the story: If you are not friendly, all the family feels bad. Ask if there are any other morals like that in Uzbek/Russian, etc.
