Yes, technology has developed into its own industry within the hospitality market. Previously just a collection of vendors who provided hotels with resources to handle their bookings, the industry has evolved into a thriving tech market. In the hospitality industry, technology manifests itself not just in the operating system that the hotel employs to handle room reservations, but also in the development of a more streamlined guest experience.

Consider a pre-arrival wireless check-in via the hotel's app, a chat with a concierge colleague to ask for tips while you prepare to leave, and a late-night snack order sent to your room with the same app. Third parties, their aggressive ads, and public feedback are another facet of technology in hospitality. What would we do these days if we didn't have review sites? There are also other aspects that technology is being used in hospitality, but most of them are only in their early stages.
