Truck must have full tank of fuel, allowing driver to get at least 150 miles from shipper location.
Check seal to make sure it is in tact and matches the BOL.
Carrier should instruct their driver to padlock the load and be responsible for removing upon arrival to receiver.
Perform a pre-trip inspection to ensure the tractor and trailer is safe to transport without the likelihood of a breakdown.
Brief the driver on routing for the load.
Carrier dispatcher should call with an in transit update every 6 hours.
Load will not be taken out of route. Carrier should instruct their driverto proceed directly from shipper to the receiver.
Load cannot be taken by the house.
LOAD CANNOT BE DROPPED!!!!
When stopping while en route, the load will be parked so it can be readily observed at all times. Trailer should be backed up against a fence or wall to prevent anyone from opening trailer doors.
At each stop perform a Pre-Trip Inspection before resuming your trip AND check the seal to make sure the seal is still intact and that it matches the seal placed on the trailer at the shipper. Carriers can reach J.B. Hunt Security at 800-433-0944 if the seal has been broken or there is a discrepancy in seal numbers.
Do not discuss the content of your load with ANYONE. (Who the shipper or receiver is or any particulars about your load.)
If using team drivers, carrier should instruct one driver should remain with the load at all times.
If a trailer has been broken into, the carrier must call J.B. Hunt immediately at 800-433-0944, and then call the local police department.
Carrier should instruct their driver not proceed to a warehouse that is unmanned during the hours of darkness. Remain at a public parking place that is well lit until time to proceed to receiver for scheduled appointment.
