It can help students feel more confident in their work.
Giving clear instructions
Giving clear instructions to students can ensure that they fully comprehend what they need to do to achieve in your classroom. It will ease students' nerves, assuage their insecurities, and help them confirm your expectations so that they can be happy and successful in school.
I want to share the activity called "Find the pair" based on idioms. In this activity teacher needs IDIOM/MEANING cards and two posters on board. On the 1st poster there should be several Idiom cards and the second poster with Meaning cards. Each student comes to the board and select the Idiom card and try to find a pair of that idiom by guessing(if he doesn't know the meaning). And the next task will be to make a sentence using that idiom.
My activity is called "Drilling". It can be used to revise the verb tenses. For example if the present continuous tense has been taught to learners, teacher shows an action (e.g. writing) and says what she is doing. Next student continues the activity saying "The teacher is writing and I am reading". The next can say "The teacher is writing, Sardor is reading and I am swimming". In this way the activity goes on till the last student repeats all others' sentences and adds his/her own. (While repeating others' version, acting is not necessary)
The activity I've chosen is "What's my problem?" game. In this game, the teacher uses stickers with a problem written on them and sticks them on the backs of the students so that they can't see it. The student guesses what his/her problem is by listening to advice given by another student. It can be done with one student in front of a class or as a pair work. The topic of "the problem" can cover the previous themes and can vary according to the level of students. So, for older students, the topic can be a bit complicated and "problems" can be more serious.
