I’ m going to ta lk about my g ra n d m o th e r on my fa th e r’s side. She is quite little and has w h ite
h a ir and glasses. I have glasses too. W e’re the only people in the fa m ily th a t w e a r glasses! 
She is very old now and I don’t get to see h e r very often... I th in k I see h e r maybe tw o or 
three tim e s a year. She lives quite fa r away in the countrysid e . It takes us about th re e hours 
to tra v e l there. W henever we visit, she alw ays gives sw eets to me. She's im p o rta n t to me 
because sh e ’s so kind and so nice, and I re a lly love her. She's d e fin ite ly my favo u rite fa m ily
m e m b e r! I th in k I take a fte r her in som e ways. We laugh at the sam e th in g s and we both like 
reading. When we go and visit, we always go out w a lk in g in the fie ld s and have a re a lly lovely 
tim e . My dad always says th a t w e 're very sim ila r. I’d like to be as w ise as her w hen I am 
older. I’d also like to have a s im ila r life. She had a very su cce ssfu l career. She was a d o c to r 
and w orked fo r c h a ritie s . She was very m uch in love w ith my g ra n d fa th e r, w hich I th in k is 
lovely.

Last year I w ent to a w on d e rfu l restaurant overlooking the river in my city, M arseille, w ith a 
group of friends. The special occasion was my frie n d's 21st birthday and we decided to go out 
fo r dinner. We wanted to eat beef because this restaurant is fam ous fo r meat, but as we arrived 
late they did n 't have any beef left. Instead we ate bouillabaisse which is a kind of seafood stew 
containing fish and shellfish. I had a couple of glasses of orange juice. For dessert we each had 
a slice of birthday cake which the restaurant had made especially fo r my friend. The cake had 21 
candles and my friend blew them a ll out in one go so she made many wishes fo r the future. We 
had so much fun that night.
