Lesson 3 Robot, jump!

The aim of the lesson:
Educational: – to learn how to say commands
Developing: – to enable pupils to understand and fulfil commands;
Socio-cultural: – to raise awareness of the commands; – raise awareness of the pronunciation of the sound [aɪ].
Competence: SC2, SC and LC in speaking about the parts of the body.
Learning outcomes: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: - recognise, say and write letters Aa and Bb; - say animals and sounds they produce; - recite a poem; - recognise different pronunciation of the letter “A” and single pronunciation of “B”.
Type of the lesson: non-standard, mixed
Method of the lesson: group work, pair work
Equipment: Pupil‟s book, Workbook, the DVD, cards with: letters; hop, jump, walk, run, and climb

Activity 1 Listen and sing. Objective: to warm up
Ask the pupils to listen to the poem and then sing the song all together. Look at Unit 6, Lesson 2, Activity 1 for Tapescript.

Activity 2 Play “Head, nose ...”
Objective: to recycle the learnt vocabulary
This game can also be called “Who will say the final word?” It is a kind of competition for recycling the words of the first lesson plus the words from the second lesson (head, eyes, ears, mouth, nose, hand, leg).
Explain to the pupils that he or she who says more words about the parts of body will be the winner. Then ask the pupils to remember what parts of the body they know in English. You needn‟t use the words “left” or “right” for hands and legs as they are inactive vocabulary. In order not to lose time, ask the pupils to say them in their native language if they have forgotten.
