The aim of the lesson: 

Educational: - to learn the months of the year 

Developing: - to enable pupils to say the months in order; - to enable pupils to use the 

calendar; - to enable pupils to understand and use the short forms of the months 

Sociolinguistic  competence:  -  to  raise  awareness  of  the  similarities  and  differences  of 

the months in English and the mother tongue; - to raise awareness of the use of short 

forms of the months 

Linguistic competence:  By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: - say the months 

of the year in order; - arrange the months in alphabetical order; - guess the months 

from their short forms   

Equipments: textbooks, handouts, technical aids, a map of the world, a blackboard and 

a piece of chalk.
