The aim of this research is the analysis of the background and
prospects of schoolchildren’s polylingual education in the context of new Federal State Educational Standards (FSES). The leading approaches in the research of the problem under study are competence-based and contrastive ones as they let us fully consider the phenomenon of polylingualism which gives an opportunity to use several language systems in communication.
The general aims define the following objectives of course paper:

  1. To explore theoretical viewpoints about polylingualism;

  2. To define the purposes teaching English in polylinguism terms;

  3. To justify the application of competence-based and contrastive
    approaches in teaching a second foreign language in the modern school;

  4. To develop the model of the foreign language communicative competence formation for a second foreign language.

The object of this work is the processes of learning factors that cause speaking in polylingual situation.
The subject of work is to learn strategies and techniques of teaching English in polylingualism terms in primary school.
The major methods used in the research process are: the method of linguistic description and analysis, which let us create the theoretical basis of the present course paper. The method of continuous selection was used to single the research material out. The structural, formalization methods were used for working with the results got in the research process. The research material of the work is tables taken from different modern course books and manuals. The given material presents a board field for research. It also gives us an opportunity to rich the set goals of the present research.
The sources of the research paper while investigating the given qualification work are the works of the well-known methodologists and the Internet web sites which are given in the references that follows the conclusion.
The theoretical value of the research paper is for those willing to take up their future career in this field of teaching methodology as valuable reference to the subject matter of methodology, English for specific purposes, in teaching language skills.
