The aims of the lesson: To get learners to study the Old English period and investigate the sound system of the period thoroughly;
Pedagogical objectives: -to enable students to investigate sound system of OE period; - to clarify different approaches to the division of the English language history; - to get students to consider the importance of Scandinavian Conquest;		Learning outcomes: Student will be able: - to investigate sound system of OE period; - to understand different approaches to the division of the English language history; - to consider the importance of Scandinavian Conquest its influence on linguistic situation;
The methods of teaching	Discussion, Questioning and answering, “WWW” method;
