introduction
In this present Work we want to talk about the theory of
human language,the divine source
and its basics hypothesis, the natural sound sources(the
bow wow theory, the pooh pooh
theory,the ding- dong theory,the yo -he-ho
theory and the la la theory, physical adaptation
and the scientific approach.
A)the divine source and its basic hypothesis
According to Yule, “God created Adam and whatsoever Adam called every living creature,
that was the name thereof”
(Genesis 2:19).a brief look at some of these speculative notions will reveal this. According to
Judea-Christian beliefs, God gave Adam the power to name all things.
The basic hypothesis is that, if new- born babies were allowed to grow up
without hearing any language, then they would spontaneously begin
using the original God give language. We need social environment to learn any
language.
Phrygian, the language spoken in a province of Phrygia in the northwest comer of what is
now Turkey. Based on this "experiment" this ancient language, which has long since died
out,was thought to be the original language.
History is replete with other proposals.
B)The Natural Sound Theory
States that language derived from the imitation of the natural sounds which early men and
women heard around them;however it concentrate on the natural aspect of language.
bow-wow theory:
This idea that speech arose from people imitating the sounds that things
make: Bow-wow, moo, baa, etc.we talk about characteristic sounds associated with them, and
very few of our words sound anything at all like what they means.
Pooh–pooh theory -
Also been suggested that the original sounds of language may have
come from natural cries of emotions such as pain, anger and joy, a laugh, a shriek, a gasp.
The ding-dong theory:
idea that speech reflects some mystical resonance or harmony
connected with things in the world;is claimed that a set of physical gestures was developed as
a means of communication.
The yo-he-ho theory:
idea that speech started with the rhythmic
chants and grunts people
used to coordinate their physical actions when they worked together. the appeal of this theory
is that it places the development of human language in social context.
The la-la theory:
Language originated for the romantic side of life, sound associated with
love, and this speech emerged from the
sounds of inspired playfulness, love, poetic
sensibility,play, feeling and song.
C) Physical adaptation
The human vocal tract evolved from a non-human primates (gorillas) form to enable fast and
efficient communication to take place. Speech is not merely the incidental result of a system
designed for eating and breathing.
The human brain is lateralised, is has specialised functions in each of the two hemispheres. It
may be that there is an evolutionary connection between tool-using and language-using
abilities of humans, and that both are related to the development of human brain.
D) The Scientific Approach
the origins of human speech comes under the general headings of glossogenetics. This
focuses mainly on the biological basis of the formation and development of human language.
This is “the study of the formation and development of human language, in both the child and
the race. The main sciences involved are biology, anthropology, psychology, neurology (the
study of brain evolution), primatology, and linguistics.
Conclusion
In this present work we conclued that the origen of human
language is so beautiful to
studying, we learned that Phrygian, the language spoken in a province of Phrygia in the
northwest comer of what is now Turkey.wich was thought to be original language, and exist
five incredible theory.
