М. V. Lomonosov (1711-1765) contributed greatly to the theoretical development of physics, astronomy, geography, mineralogy and other sciences. He worked out his own corpuscular theory and its chemical application. His corpuscular theory was the basis for the future devel­ opment of the atomic theory. He is the founder of Russian physico­ chemical science.
