Annotation. 
Modern society is characterized by the ex-
pansion of international interactions in all areas of social 
development. This process takes place on the one hand, 
against the backdrop of globalization, on the other, in 
conditions of variability, the diversity of cultures in our so-
ciety. Such multifaceted socio
-
economic changes taking 
place in the modern world are also reflected in education, 
which in turn determines the need to educate new rela-
tionships between people based on humanistic values. It 
should be noted that such changes in the development of 
modern society are reflected in the reform of the higher 
education system in Russia, affecting the level of develop-
ment of human potential and improving the quality of life 
of Russian citizens. 
 
The aim of the article is to conduct such an analytical 
study, to identify possible new directions for improving 
and improving the main indicators of the development of 
the higher education system in order to identify its soci-
ocultural significance. For this, a study and analysis of in-
formation sources on a designated topic was carried out, 
the main trends, conditions and directions of optimization 
were identified and highlighted. Particular emphasis is 
placed on the general line of development of the higher 
education system in our country 
-
 this is on the use of new 
federal state educational standards of higher education, 
as well as on the introduction of information technologies 
in education.
The article reflects the current problems of the sociocul-
tural significance of education for young people. It also 
analyzes the importance of the sociocultural educational 
field in the technology for identifying problems in educa-
tional activities, developing goals and objectives that 
characterize the desired state of education, and develop-
ing ways and means to achieve these goals. The questions 
of creating a sociocultural educational space, understood
