Abstract
.
Adsorption methods are used to purify gases with a low content of vaporous and
gaseous impurities. Unlike absorption methods, they allow gas purification at elevated
temperatures. Unlike absorption methods, they allow gas purification at elevated temperatures.
In coal mines and during transportation to industry, dust is formed in coal. This has a negative
impact on the environment. After coal is extracted from coal mines, it is delivered to the
necessary production facilities. One of the most pressing problems today is the prevention of the
accumulation of coal dust and waste in the republic and their targeted production. With the
adsorption enrichment of coal residues with additives and with the full determination of the
adsorption properties of the obtained porous carbon adsorbents, we can determine the full
thermodynamic properties by capillary and volumetric methods in a high-vacuum adsorption
device with high sensitivity, the calorimetric device DAK 1-1. Having determined the adsorption
isotherm of benzene, the differential heat, entropy and equilibrium time of the resulting coal, it is
possible to describe in detail the adsorption capacity of the new adsorbent, the location of active
centers and the pore size. These circumstances lead to the fact that, in practical terms, the
reverse process of adsorbent recovery (desorption) turns out to be impracticable, i.e. the
adsorbent must be replaced after the first absorption operation. Chemical reactions occurring in
gas-solid systems differ in a number of characteristic features: the volume of the reaction system
is limited by the limits of the interfacial surface; reactions proceed in the direction of an
increase in the layer of the solid reaction product formed on a separate particle and in a layer of
particles; a number of chemical reactions are characterized by an increase in the reaction rate
over time, explained by the catalytic action of solid reaction products (autocatalysis).
