Soil type, relief and microrelief, soil moisture and hardness are determined in accordance with
GOST 20915.
According to the agro-technical data of the farm, the size of the plant, the number of yield
elements and the number of yielding branches per plant were determined. The development
phase was determined (visually) by reviewing the leaf surface description (by density).
During the defoliation of cotton, the length was determined in the calculated area of 10 m, the
width of which was equal to the width of the machine cover. In the calculation, not less than 10
areas are selected, taken on two diagonals of the calculation areas.
The number of plants in all areas was calculated and the plant density up to the full
number value was calculated according to the following formula [11]:

n
- is the number of plants, pieces;
S
- calculated surface area, m.
The height of the cotton was measured in the straightened position, and the width was
measured from the most protruding part of the side branches facing the row spacing. The error
should not exceed ±1 cm. The error was determined to be no more than 10% by measuring the
height of the opening at the bottom and the distance from the opening to the opening at the
bottom of the row. The number of open and half-opened cages, including cages, was calculated
separately for each nest. The open cocoons are full of bowls and the raw cotton can be easily
removed from them. The open bowls of raw cotton in cotton were taken into account separately,
while the total number of open bowls in the calculation platforms was taken into account
separately. The obtained sum was divided by the number of open bowls belonging to this cotton
navigator, and the number of separate open bowls per plant was determined. The proportion of
open and semi-opened coffins was calculated.
Cotton sizes (height, bush diameter) were determined. The diameter of the tuber was
determined from the largest thickening of the tufts in the natural state. Technical efficiency was
determined by the number of cotton swabs taken into account in determining the quality of work.
The number of stalks dropped from the cotton stalks was determined when the spraying
unit passed at the optimum speed with the working devices from the calculated area of three
repetitions of length 10 m. Each counting cut was separated by pegs, which were kept in the field
until the end of the experiment.
Determination of meteorological conditions was carried out during the assessment of the
performance of the experimental spraying unit.
