INTRODUCTION. 
Implementation of the tasks set for the railways of the Republic of 
Uzbekistan, successful development of transport and communication construction, complex 
improvement and modernization of railway transport, reconstruction of railway tracks, 
electrification of major railway sections, rolling stock with modern high-performance 
locomotives, freight and passenger cars. implies an update. 
The motion of the torsional vibrations that occur in the traction transmission of mainline 
locomotives is inextricably linked with the problem of interaction of the wheel at the point of 
rest on the rails. Great attention has been paid regularly to increasing the value of traction on the 
wheel-rail coupling. Researchers of the Department of Materials Science and Mechanical 
Engineering of Tashkent State University of Transport are studying and analyzing the traction 
forces and design parameters of the rolling stock on the above issues [1-4].
The coefficient of adhesion, which is one of the factors influencing the contact force of a 
wheel with a rail, depends on many factors and can be divided into groups related to locomotive 
design, road construction, weather conditions and contamination characteristics of contact

surfaces. In this case, the factors that directly affect the ability of the locomotive to achieve 
maximum traction are as follows: 
- geometric dimensions - the diameter of the bandage of the wheel pairs and the radius of 
curvature of the rail head; 
- material of bandages and rails
- the amount of erosion of the contact surfaces, as well as the remaining nodes of the 
carriageway; 
- erosion of the upper device of the road, as well as curved sections of the road; 
- vertical load on the rails from a pair of wheels; 
- oscillations in the traction of the locomotive
- the difference in the conditions under which the force of gravity is carried out by its 
individual moving axes; 
- weather conditions - humidity and temperature, chemical composition of contaminants 
on contact surfaces, etc..
