Growing Orchids at Home
Many people are afraid to grow orchids at home because they think they will surely kill these beautiful, 
sensitive, exotic plants. While it is true that many types of orchids are much more delicate than your 
average houseplant, certain types of orchids can be grown easily year-round indoors.*
One of the easiest orchids to grow is the 
Phalaenopsis
. These flowering beauties can bloom once or 
twice a year as long as they are given sunlight, watered regularly, and watched for damage by insects or 
disease. Many people throw away 
Phalaenopsis
orchids after they have finished blooming, but if you keep 
caring for the plant during its resting cycle, it will reward you with beautiful flowers again and again.

Some orchids may also be grown in shade outdoors in a climate that is mild year-round, as found in the Philippines or other Pacific islands.
