Directions to Ashgrove Cottage from Dublin

From Dublin there are two routes one can take to get to Ashgrove Cottage.

Dublin has a ring road around it called the M50
Route 1 via Galway
Take Exit 7 off M 50 signposted for M4 /The West / Galway and Sligo.

Approximately an hour into your journey,this route will split where you follow the M6 for Galway.

As you approach Galway , look out for signs for N18 / Limerick / Ennis.

Follow this route and eventually you can get onto M18 motorway for Limerick/ Ennis.

Get off at Exit 14 for Ennis/ Barefield.

About 200 Yds / metres from the exit , take the first left down a local road. There is a sign on this road for L8122.

Entrance to Ashgrove Cottage is one mile (1.6km) on your left just after graveyard, sign on wall Ashgrove

Route 2 via Limerick

Take Exit 9 off M50 for Limerick. As you approach Limerick follow the

signs for Ennis / Galway via the tunnel which is tolled (one euro ,80 cent )

Get off at Exit 14 for Ennis / Barefield.

At the Barefield North roundabout follow the signs for Limerick which brings you under the motorway bridge. Take the second right down a local road signposted for L8122. Look out for a break in the orange markings that are in the middle of the road.

Entrance to Ashgrove Cottage is one mile (1.6km) on your left after graveyard, sign on wall Ashgrove

Route 2 is motorway all the way to Barefield but is a very busy route.

Route 1 has a lot less traffic , but you have about 20 miles of road that is not motorway between Galway and Ennis
