This Solicitation was advertised in eMaryland Marketplace. Thirteen (13) contractors received bid packages; eleven (11) were Maryland firms. Thirteen (13) responsive and responsible bids were received.
The work to be performed under this contract consists of furnishing all materials and equipment and performing all labor to complete the work including, but not limited to the following:
● Demolition work includes the removal and disposal of existing asphalt paving, clearing and grubbing of existing vegetation and the removal/abandonment/relocation of existing utilities including unclassified trench excavation and the disposal of solid waste, potentially contaminated/hazardous soil and potentially petroleum-contaminated material.
● Demolish/remove existing bulkheads, pipe supports/cradles and temporary piping installed under the

MMT Storm Drain Relocation, Phase I & New Connection to 48” Water Main contract (506523).


● Installing permanent bulkheads at open end sections of the existing Baltimore City 3’x 8’ Box Culvert being taken out of service once the Phase 1 Storm Drain System (Contract 506523) becomes fully-operational.
● New construction includes the installation of: 280± linear feet of 6’x 8’ reinforced concrete box culvert, two (2) junction boxes, 3125± linear feet of reinforced concrete drainage pipe (ranging in size from 15” to 54”) and associated manholes, 8-foot high temporary fencing and 8-foot high permanent fencing.
The MBE goal established for this contract is 35%, the Contractor is exceeding this goal by 3%.

Grantee is planning to develop their property for an industrial use and Frederick County is requiring a permanent access arrangement to move forward with those plans.
The railroad right of way is a former freight rail line and is now being operated by the Walkersville Southern Railroad (WSRR) for an excursion train. The easement will have no impact on WSRR’s operations.

Board of Public Works’ approval is requested for the real property Easement Agreement.
