Hurdzhun madrasah

When in 1835 Allakulikhan’s madrasah was completed, madrasah of Hodzhamberdibiy was completely rebuilt. It was originally built in 1688 near the city gates, and consisted of the mosque and 10 - 12 hujras arranged around a small courtyard. Speaking of madrasah of Hodzhamberdibiya, one can only mention his surviving mosque and adjoining premises. Mosque in scope and decorations is somewhat similar to ordinary hudjras, but from the rest hujras it differs with a square structure, the mihrab, with a brick dome mukarnas (architectural pattern in the form of stalactites). The reason for the difference from the usual structure of the madrasa form is the result of the desire of masters to accommodate new building for the madrasah of Allakulikhan. In order to make the passage to the central portal of the madrasah of Allakulikhan, old domes of the madrasah of Hozhamberdibiy were demolished as a result of falling of low walls of the courtyard of madrasa was divided into two halves. For this reason, later, in addition to its old name, the madrasah of Hodzhamberdibiy got the name Hurdzhun (fopping scrip). Old portal of madrasah was demolished, in its place new darvazahana with low-dome portal was built. Through a simple domed darvazahanu one can go to the lead track, in the courtyard of the madrasah Hurdzhun, the courtyard in front of madrasahs Allakulikhan. From the outside you can not say that there is located another madrasah. Compared to the madrasah of Allakulikhan, its roof is a kind of elevation (Sufa), located in front of the majestic portal. In the internal layout of the madrasah, there are many random elements: - the thickness of the walls is from 0.5 to 3 meters in the northern and southern courtyard door hujras and is not taken inside the arches, khujdras are also not identical to each other. The merit of the masters in the construction of madrasahs is that they, in spite of centuries after the construction of the madrasah, managed to reproduce ancient techniques of construction of domes, combining old and new structures into a single structure and giving the building a new kind of attraction. Madrasah of Hodzhamberdibiy (Hurdzhun) was restored in 2008. Currently, in the premises of madrasahs a restaurant operates, named "Khorezm Art".
