Objective: to provide students with free oral practice and to practise the language used in discussions and debates; to promote critical thinking
Divide the class into groups o f 4. Group A should prepare an argument that supports the motion. Group В should prepare reasons why they support the motion. Remind PP that they should prepare reasons for their group even if this is not their real idea. In this way, the debate provides practice in thinking critically Revise language for giving opinions and agreeing and disagreeing. ―Every Pupil should have the same opportunities: We do not want private schools in our town‖
