Objective: to reinforce a new grammar rule (suffix -ist) PP read the new words and guess their meaning. They add more words to the list. They might know: dentist, hygienist (helps the dentist cleaning teeth), scientist. Write the new words on the board. Go round the class like a chain drill with students giving the meaning o f the new words and the words they have thought o f as in the example.

Objectives: to raise pupils‘ awareness o f different professions PP say what they know about these professions and say why they are popular now.

Activity 2

Objective: to practise talking about future professions PP say what profession they want to choose and why.

Objective: to practise reading for the main idea PP read the text and choose the main idea.
